Backups exist so your data can be recovered after a failure, which means they are written once and not edited afterwards. When you delete your account we remove your information from the live service straight away, but a backup taken before that point still contains it until that backup reaches the end of the schedule above and is deleted. Backups are only ever used to restore the service after a failure.

You can ask us to delete your account from your own account settings. You only have to ask once. The deletion then runs automatically, and you can only ever request it for the account you are signed in to.
Deleting your account removes:
Some records are kept, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise. Payments are kept for the accounting and tax periods described above, with your identity detached from them. We also keep a small record that a deletion happened, holding only an account reference, the dates and the outcome, so we can show the request was carried out. That record contains none of your personal information.
Deletion is not reversible, and it does not reach copies that are no longer ours. An employer who already received and downloaded your application holds that copy as their own data controller. If you want an employer to delete it, you need to contact that employer directly.
Our Platform is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete such information.
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. By using our Platform, you consent to such transfers.

When you apply for a role, the employer who posted it receives your application, including your profile, your CV and anything you wrote in your application. Employers holding a paid package may also search candidate profiles and view CVs of candidates who have made themselves discoverable.
Once an employer has received your application, they hold a copy of it as a separate data controller. Deleting your JobConnects account removes your data from our platform, but it does not delete applications an employer already received and downloaded. If you want an employer to delete your data, contact that employer directly.
We use automated processing to rank and match candidates against a role, to summarise applications for employers, and to help draft job descriptions, CVs and cover letters.
These are assistive tools. No hiring decision is made automatically by the platform. Employers decide who to shortlist, interview and hire. Matching scores are guidance for a human, not an outcome.
Our Android application collects the same information as the website. In addition, if you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can send you alerts about applications and messages. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, and we will stop sending them.
The app requests camera and microphone access only for features that need them, such as uploading a document or taking part in an interview. Access is requested at the point of use and you can decline it.
If you join our referral, ambassador, marketing internship or partner programme, we additionally record your referral link activity, the customers introduced through it, and the commission owed to you. Where the law requires tax to be deducted before we pay you, we will also collect the identification and tax registration details needed to make that payment lawfully.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the Platform.
